| In the opening of “Ha Long” suite, I use the piano to create a mood of a majestic, descending dragon on the city. I tried to capture what it might sound like if a dragon were to swoop down upon the people, but not too close so that they are unafraid, but stare in wonder at the nobility and majesty of the creature. If you listen closely, you can hear the growling, fiery breath of the dragon in the middle of the movement. |
